Virginia Beach - Lois Virginia Wommack, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on 
August 18, 2013. She was born in Norfolk to the late William Linwood and Agnes 
Lanigan Kemp. She was preceded in death by William T. Wommack, her husband of 42 
years.
In her early years Lois was a member of the New York City Rockettes from 1940-
1945. She volunteered at DePaul Hospital for more than 30 years. She also served 
on the board and was a long standing member of the Thoroughgood Garden Club and 
the Suburban Women's Club.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Ted Bacalis; two 
nephews, Tommy (Tammy) and Teddy (Judy) Bacalis; four great nieces and nephews, 
Emily, TJ, Mason and Mallory.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Evelyn, Barbara, Shirley and L.L.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in 
St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach Blvd. The family will 
receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts., Norfolk Chapel. Memorial donations can be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA.
