                 Mrs. Nellie A. Wood, Former Matron, Dies

Mrs. Nellie A. Wood, daughter of the late Patrick and Mrs. Mary Harrington 
Sheehan, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 9 a.m.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Patrick Moore, of Norfolk; a granddaughter, 
Mrs. Ellen D. Stephenson; two grandsons, George J. Moore and Patrick J. Calo, 
USAF, and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wood was a native of New York City and had been a resident of Norfolk for  
33 years, residing at 8101 Simons Drive, Oakdale Farms. She was matron at the 
city jail for 15 years.
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to St. Mary's 
Catholic Church for funeral services Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.
