Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, June 2, 1990 
Leo Wood, of the 800 block of Edwin Drive, a physical education teacher, died
May 29, 1990, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Wood, a native of Norfolk, taught at Sherwood Forest Elementary School,
Norfolk. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. He was also a
member of the National Education Association and was a former member of the
Fountain Head Club. He was a graduate of Virginia State College, Petersburg. He
was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Montrose D. Wood; two daughters, DeLynda W. Wilson
and Judith R. Wood, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Dr. DeMonte A. Wood of Long
Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Willie Wood of Norfolk and Otis Wood of Oxon Hill,
Md.; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of
Norfolk by the Rev. Kenneth L. Hemphill. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A
eulogy will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home,
Kempsville Chapel, where visitation will be until 9 p.m.
