Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark September 12, 1933

John Dozier Wood, husband of Hazel White Wood, and son of the late William H. 
and Martha A. Wood, died yesterday morning at the Veterans Administration 
Hospital at Huntington, W.Va. after an illness of eight years. He was a native 
and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, 
a member of the Junior Order American Mechanic and of St. Peter's Episcopal 
Church. Besides his wife, Mrs. Hazel White Wood, he is survived by two sons, 
Charles and Leroy Wood; a sister, Mrs. Ada W. Fentress and a brother, William E. 
Wood, all of Norfolk. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments 
610-12 East Freemason Street, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, with Chaplain 
William E. Callender, U.S.P.H.S. officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
