 Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday August 3, 1946
David Whitehurst Wood, 68, died Friday at 11 p.m. at his residence at 
Northwest, Norfolk County, after an illness of two weeks.
A native of Pasquotank County, North Carolina, he had made his home at 
Northwest practically all of his life. He was a son of the late Jonathan and 
Kissie (Keziah) Whitehurst Wood.
Mr. Wood is survived by a niece, Mrs. Ruth Creekmore, of Fentress, and three 
nephews, John Humphries and Willard Humphries, of Fentress, and Willard W. 
Wood, of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church of Fentress.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 
conducted at the grave in Magnolia Cemetery today at 4 p.m.
