F.O. Wood Dies, Aged 79
Former Realtor and Insurance Man To Be Laid to Rest Tomorrow

Fletcher O. Wood, of 806 Baldwin avenue, former real estate and insurance 
man, died at a local hospital yesterday morning at 9:15 o'clock after an 
illness of 10 days. Mr. Wood was a native of Prospect, Prince Edward County, 
and a resident of Norfolk for 55 years. He was 79 years old, a son of the 
late Samuel and Martha Wood.
Prior to retirement 10 years ago, Mr. Wood had been engaged in the real 
estate and insurance business under the firm name of F.O. Wood & Co. for 30 
years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, board of deacons and of 
the Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.W.D. Woodhouse; one sister, Mrs. J.S. 
Harding and several nieces and nephews, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover 
avenue at Manteo street, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Broadus 
E. Jones, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in 
the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.

Fletcher O Wood - Funeral services for Mr. Wood, well-known real estate and 
insurance man, who died Wednesday morning, will be conducted at the Cox 
Funeral Home, 631 Westover avenue, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. 
Broadus E. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church, of which Mr. Wood was 
a member, will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
