Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 4, 1944
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wood, 76, widow of Samuel F. Wood, died at a Norfolk 
hospital yesterday morning at 10 o'clock.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.W. Barnett, Mrs. Fred Brunsted and 
Mrs. Charles M. Etheridge, all of Norfolk; a son Wesley W. Wood, of Baltimore; a 
brother Willis A. Walker, of Norfolk, a step-daughter, Mrs. C.C. Sivills, of 
Norfolk; four step-sons, Capt. J.D. Wood and Capt. F.M. Wood both of Norfolk 
Capt. R.E. Wood of Portsmouth, and Samuel F. Wood, U.S.N.; and seven 
grandchildren. Mrs. Wood was a native of Camden County, N.C. and had been a 
resident of Norfolk for 60 years.
Funeral services will be at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon 
at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
