The Virginian Pilot Friday August 9, 1974
Thomas Wilfred Wood, 73, a retired optician and former resident of Berkley and 
Norfolk, died Wednesday at 4:10 a.m. in a Virginia Beach hospital. He was a son of 
the late Frank Vaughn and Mrs. Martha Elmeta Standing Wood; a brother of Mrs. 
Herbert J. Sawyer of Plymouth, N.C., Mrs. Herman C. Jones, Mrs. Winfred L. 
Brothers, and J. Raymond Wood of Chesapeake; Mrs. B. Huber Wallace of Norfolk, 
Rev. Clyde B. Wood of Louisville, Ohio, and Frank N. Wood of Virginia Beach. A 
graveside service will be conducted this morning (FRIDAY) at 11:00 a.m. in 
Riverside Memorial Park. The body will be taken from Graham Funeral Home, South 
Norfolk, to the cemetery.
