Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, January 31, 1992 
Welton Leroy Wood, of the 7500 block of Rosefield Drive, a retired packer, died
Jan. 29, 1992, in a hospital.

Mr. Wood was born in Roper, N.C., and retired from Norfolk Naval Supply Center
after 30 years. He was a member of Logan Park Baptist Church, Tidewater Lodge
106, and the Naval Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Harriett Wood; 12 daughters, Velma Barnes, Patty
Walker, Rose Wiggins, Edith Askew, Eunice Wood, Claudia Romero and Carolyn
Ridley, all of Norfolk, Connie Baker and Lila Evans, both of Virginia Beach,
Wanda Bellamy of New York, Annette Spivey of Chesapeake and Tina Wood of Miami;
two sons, Leroy Wood and Clifford Wood, both of Norfolk; a sister, Mary Jordon
of Newark, N.J.; 44 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Logan Park Baptist Church by
the Rev. B.O. Moody. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
