Wood, of the ferries, aged 48 years, who died Tuesday evening at 10 o'clock at St. Vincent's hospital, was conducted at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Simon Swartz, 2 Cummer's Lane, yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock and was largely attended. Mrs. Wood was a daughter of Walter and Mrs. Mary Siple Clendenning, natives of Canada, but she had been a resident of this section nineteen years, and was well known in the Fentress section of the county. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. The pallbearers were C.D. Puckett, Captain B.F. Joyner, Captain J.W. Alexander and W.M. Carroway.
