Woodhouse of the 1400 block of Lead St., died Saturday, June 24, 1995, in Norfolk Community Hospital. Mr. Woodhouse was born in Princess Anne County and was the son of Helen Riley Smith and the late Frank Woodhouse. He was former assistant manager with Southern Aid and Virginia Mutual Insurance Companies and butcher for Bazemore's Market. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, was active in many phases of church life, including the Male Chorus, Senior Choir, Elite Club, a member of the Deacon Board and had served as superintendent of the Sunday school. Survivors include a daughter, Zakiyyah Rasheed, formerly Andrea Woodhouse, of Norfolk; two sons, Robert A. Woodhouse III of North Carolina and Anthony V. Woodhouse of Newport News; his mother, Helen R. Smith of Norfolk; two sisters, Margaret Perry and Veronica Melchore, both of Virginia Beach; two brothers, James Woodhouse of Philadelphia and Joseph Woodhouse of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; two great-granchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, among them a special friend, Mary Greene. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Woodhouse Williams, and a sister, Ruth McCoy. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1502 Link St., by the Rev. H. Bernard Branch. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in church at noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today.
