WOODHOUSE DIES AT AGE 82 Former Sergeant of Police Had Service Record of 35 Years With City Sergt. George W. Woodhouse, 82, retired Norfolk police officer, died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his residence, 134 Buckman Avenue, Ocean View. He ended his service several years ago, after 35 years with the department. A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, Sergeant Woodhouse was the son of James and Elizabeth Creamer Woodhouse. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy A. Woodhouse; two daughters, Mrs. Milton E. Swain and Mrs. William R. Greenwell; four sons, J.J., W.S. and George F Woodhouse and W.W. Jones; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. On the occasion of his 82d birthday, Sergeant Woodhouse was the central figure of a family reunion which brought congratulations from his friends and a cake adorned by 82 candles, presented by the Police Social Club. He was a member of Norfolk Aerie No. 163, Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Ocean View Baptist Church, of which he was a member.
