Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, February 17, 2008 
NORFOLK - Miriam J. Wooding , formerly of the 2800 block of Myrtle Ave., died
Feb. 13, 2008. She was born May 8, 1923, in Elizabeth City to the late James
Arthur Johnson and Essie Spellman Johnson. She attended Elizabeth City public
schools and graduated from Hampton Institute in 1943. She was predeceased by her
parents and sister, Gwendolyn G. Johnson; and her husband, Dr. Clinton H.
Wooding Jr.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Clinton H. Wooding III and Carol D.
Wooding of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Angela W. King
and Tony T. King of Norfolk; three granddaughters, Nacole, Alexandra and Whitney
King of Norfolk; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jacqueline J. Williams and
Roscoe Williams Jr. of Goldsboro, N.C.

A funeral will be held at noon Tuesday in Grace Episcopal Church, Father Harold
J. Cobb officiating. The viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Service is handling the arrangements, 1225
Norview Ave.
