Mr. Woodis was born in Norfolk and was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk, where he was the church sexton. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and a 4th degree knight of Peter Claves. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Woodis; one daughter, Virginia Beasley of Virginia Beach; one sister-in-law, Ella C. Bryant of Norfolk; one brother, Junius William Bryant of Norfolk; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Basilica of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception by Father Walter Barrett. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in Pretlow's Funeral Home, Norfolk. A wake will be from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday for the funeral and at 9:45 a.m. at the cemetery on Thursday for the interment.
