Norfolk - John Woods of 2844 Victoria avenue, died Tuesday in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Verda Woods and a son of Mrs. 
Jeannette Woods and the late John F. Woods.

He worked for B. F. Goodrich Rubber Co. here 18 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Besides his widow and mother, surviving are five sons, John H. Woods of 
Springfield, OH, Clarence Woods of Petersburg, and Larry Woods, Jerome Woods and 
Chris Woods of Norfolk;  two daughters, Miss Jeannette Woods of Norfolk and Mrs. 
Judith Hawkins of Chesapeake;  four brothers, German Lee Woods of Connecticut, 
and James Woods, Samuel Woods, and Nathaniel Woods of Norfolk;  and five 
grandchildren.

A funeral service was held in Second Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. H. W. B. 
Walker.  Burial with military honors was in Calvary Cemetery.

Riddick Funeral Service had charge.
