 Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark May 5, 1928
Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Woodsend, aged 83, died at her home, 6412 Hampton boulevard, 
yesterday morning at 11:20 o'clock after an illness of two months.  She was the 
widow of Charles J. Woodsend and daughter of the late Henry and Mary Livergood 
Thoman, a native of Canada, but a resident of this city for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Woodsend is survived by one son, L.E. Woodsend, of Los Angeles and a 
grandson, Charles E. Woodsend, of Roanoke.
The body was removed to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Brother, 631 Westover 
avenue, where funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.  The 
Rev. J.T. Bosman, pastor of Larchmont Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Woodsend was 
a member, will conduct the services.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
