WOOLDRIDGE NORFOLK - Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Willie B. Wooldridge, 72, of 252 W. Government Ave., the husband of Mrs. Catherine Nulty Wooldridge and a native of Thayer, Mo., died Tuesday in a hospital. He lived here for 33 years. He retired from the Navy in 1947 after 21 years of service and was a World War II veteran. He also worked for Civil Service at Norfolk Naval Air Station and retired. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 60. Other survivors include a son, Ronald T. Wooldridge of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Verna Lively, and a brother, Leslie Wooldridge, both of Thayer, Mo.; and four grandchildren. The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, where a Wake (rosary) service will be held tonight at 7:30, preceded at 7:15 by a Fleet Reserve service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. George Zahn. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
