Virginian-Pilot, May 13 & 15, 1887
The VIRGINIAN is sorry to announce the death of Dr. Worthington, who died at 
his late residence in Berkley, yesterday morning at 6 o'clock. Dr. Worthington 
was one of the well known and most highly respected citizens of this place, and 
leaves a wife and daughter to mourn his death.

The funeral of Dr. R. H. Worthington took place yesterday morning at 10 
o'clock, from St. Paul's P. E. Church, and was largely attended by friends, 
relatives and members of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, of which the deceased was a 
member. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert Gatewood, after 
which the remains were borne to Elmwood Cemetery and interred. The following 
were the pallbearers: Drs. J. C. Floyd, J. W. Thomas and F. A. Walke, and 
Messrs. T. C. Humphries, George Dashiell and James A. McCoy.
