Wrenn, died yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock as a result of his injuries received last Monday afternoon from an explosion of a one pound shell at the family residence in North Main street. On Friday several pieces of the brass shell were located in his right thigh, one of which had passed through the limb and was removed from the opposite side and a second piece had buried itself in the muscles, was also located. Poisoning from the brass set in yesterday and it was found necessary to operate on the limbs again. An ambulance was called, but the unfortunate lad died enroute to the Norfolk Protestant Hospital. The poisoning that set in intensified the agonies that he was already suffering from the wounds, to such an extent that suffering became unbearable. His death, resulting in the manner it did, brought quite a gloom over the friends and acquaintances of the little fellow and the family who have the sympathy of the town. He was considered very bright in his school work and his parents had bright prospects of a promising future before him. The funeral will be conducted from the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church this afternoon at 5 o'clock, Rev. P.S.C. Davis, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church officiating and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************************ FUNERAL SERVICES OF WILLIAM WRENN Victim of Shell Explosion Buried - Large Concourse of Friends Attend the Last Sad Rites The obsequies of the late William Lee Wrenn, the 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George T.
