H. Wrenn, who departed this life in the 82d year of his age at his home, 107 Main Street, at 8:05 o'clock last night, was one of Berkley's respected and beloved citizens. He entered the military service of the Confederate States of America April 19, 1861, as first and acting adjutant Third Virginia Infantry, A.N, Va. Left Norfolk with command and encamped in Isle of Wight County month of April, 1861. Crossed James River after battle of Bethel. Engaged at Dam Number on Warwick River. Was elected captain of Company B of same regiment upon reorganization of army at Yorktown, Va. He was in numerous engagements, among them Williamsburg. Sunday battle around Richmond and Gordonsville, at which latter place he was by the surgeon sent to the rear. He was a charter member of Pickett-Buchanan camp, having been elected December 4, 1883. He was a consistent member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church and for several years a member of its vestry, during which time he served most faithfully as registrar. He leaves a widow, who was Miss Mary E. Parker; one son, George T. Wrenn and five grandchildren. The funeral will be from St. Thomas' Episcopal Church Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, conducted by the rector, Rev. E.W. Cowling. ************************************************************* The funeral of the late Capt. John W.H. Wrenn, one of Berkley ward's best known and most highly esteemed citizens, who died Monday evening at 8:05 o'clock at the family residence in Main Street, will be conducted from the St. Thomas Episcopal Church this afternoon at 5 o'clock. The rector, Rev. E.W. Cowling, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
