Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 12, 1921

Joseph Levin Wright, 72 years old, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock 
at his home near Providence, Norfolk County, after a lingering illness.  He 
was a native of Somerset County, Maryland, a son of the late Jesse and Mrs. 
Emma Lowe Wright, but had lived in the above section thirty-seven years.  He 
was well known and esteemed.
He is survived by the following children:  Mrs. J.S. King, Mrs. J.T. 
Jernigan, H.L. Wright, Mrs. G.A. Reel and Miss Susie Wright, all of the 
Providence section and T.J. Wright, of Cherry Creek, N.Y.  He was a member 
of Lee Lodge No. 48, K. of P. and Oakdale Lodge No. 70, I.O.O.F.  The 
funeral will be conducted at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 
o'clock by Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian 
Church, and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
