Mrs. Wyatt was born in Norfolk and was the widow of William Wyatt Sr. She retired from the Norfolk Public Schools 30 years ago with 20 years of service. She was a member of New Mount Zion AME Church, Norfolk, the Missionary Society and the Senior Choir, was church sexton for over 50 years and was Missionary of the Year in 1992. She was a member of Bollingbrook Civic League. Survivors include one son, James Wyatt of New Jersey; one sister, Dorothy Perminter of Norfolk; grandchildren, Dr. Toya Wyatt of California, Mona Wyatt of New York, Cheryl Santos of Maryland, Towanda Wyatt-Manuel of Norfolk, James Wyatt Jr., Ernest Wyatt Jr. of Georgia. She is also survived by Daphne Perminter, Violet Eure, Dennis D. Patterson Sr., James Brown, Mabel Griffin, all of Norfolk. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in New Mount Zion AME Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. James G. Smith. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will meet at the home at noon Sunday.
