"Rick" Wyatt III died May 21, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Norfolk, the son of Antoinette Bisese Wyatt and the late Fred B. Wyatt Jr. Rick was a graduate of Granby High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a field engineer with Bell Atlantic with 33 years of service. Rick was preceded in death by a brother, Steve L. Wyatt. Survivors include his wife Dian, his son, Frederick "Ricky" Wyatt IV and his wife Jennifer; his daughter, Michele Wyatt and her partner Shelly Meister; and two grandchildren, RJ and Logan Wyatt. Rick is also survived by a brother, Russ E. Wyatt and his wife Jennie; two sisters, Jennie W. Gwaltney and her husband Al, Sherry W. Hill and her husband, Richard a sister-in-law, Carol Wyatt; many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He was an avid car enthusiast who loved to ride his Harley with his children and good friends. He enjoyed being at the beach surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters and all of those who shared his love of the outdoors. His passion for living will be missed by all who loved him. A funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
