Norfolk - Miss Bernice Wynn of 803 Fremont St, retired from the Norfolk City 
Health Department and former head operating room nurse at Norfolk Community 
Hospital, died Tuesday in a hospital.

She was a native of Norfolk and was retired from the Health Department after 
28 years. She was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church and its 
Missionary Circle, Sunday School, and Women's Bible School.

She was a member of St. Phillip Nursing Alumnae Association, founder of Chi 
Eta Phi sorority, Eta chapter, and United Order of Tents, Lydia 1.

Survivors include four cousins, Mrs. Martha Brown of Reigelwood, NC, Mrs. 
Martha Perry of Baltimore, Mrs. Dora Artis of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Emily 
Burgess of Philadelphia.

A funeral will be held Saturday at noon in Bank Street Memorial Baptist 
Church by the Rev. James C. Griffin. burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with 
Hale Funeral Home in charge. A Christian Wake will be held tonight from 7 to 
8 in the funeral home.
