Mildred "Mom" Yamnicky, 83, of the 9000 block of Mason Creek Road, died April 27, 
2001, after a brief illness.

She was born in Yonkers, N.Y., traveled abroad for many years as a military wife 
and then settled in Norfolk. She worked for the Willoughby Inn for 25 years as a 
cook and manager. Known well as "Mom", she was loved and respected by all. There 
are no words to express how much she is going to be missed.

A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk 
Chapel, by Father Wayne Ball. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 
Norfolk. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 9 
p.m.
