Godfrey Tate. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge. He died Dec. 23 in a hospital. A native of Norfolk, he was a son of the late Easley S. Yancey and Mrs. Hannah Yancey and was a member of Seaside Golf Association. He was employed as a taxi driver for Broadway-Manhattan Taxi Cab Corporation for 15 years. Other than his widow, surviving are five sons, Melvin Yancey, Eddie M. Yancey Jr., Rudolph Yancey, Harry Yancey and Curtis Yancey, all of Norfolk; three daughters, Mrs. Constance Hazzard of Peachdale, RI, and Mrs. Betty Murphy and Miss Patricia Yancey of Norfolk; two brothers, Easley L. Yancey of Norfolk and Hamlett Yancey of Brooklyn; a sister, Mrs. Estelle Yancey of Norfolk; and 16 grandchildren.
