irginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 31, 2008
VIRGINIA BEACH - Timothy Godphrae Yates , 32, of the 300 block of Osprey St., 
passed away Jan. 26, 2008. He was born Dec. 24, 1975, in Augusta, Ga., and 
attended Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. Tim was a soldier for the 
Lord. He touched many lives during his short time on earth. His compassion for 
inspiring others was limitless. Tim often spoke of his sister, Angel, as if 
she was his other half. His relationship with his brothers was inseparable. 
They were all soldiers. Tim was a member of Calvary Life Harvest Church, 
Newport News. He was employed by Concrete by Faith as a concrete finisher. He 
was predeceased by his grandparents, Ray and Geraldine Barrow. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of five years, Katrina Marie Yates of 
Virginia Beach; one daughter, who was a mirror of him, Angel Marjae' Yates 
(Stacey R. Williams); his mother, Donna Verniece Barrow; his father, Aubrey 
Barrow Sr.; one sister, Angel Francena Yates -Glass (Marlon) of Virginia 
Beach; a special sister, Yolanda Ceasar; five brothers, Kenneth Leon Yates , 
Aubrey Barrow Jr., both of Norfolk, Aaron Creekmore of Portsmouth, Elijah Hill 
and Deshawn Parker, both of Norfolk; a special nephew born in his likeness, 
Lil' Marlon; his grandparents, Frederick Lee Yates Sr. (Arlene) of Winfall, 
N.C., and Kay Jean Mack of Virginia Beach; and a host of other relatives and 
friends. 

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan 
Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Pastor Tyrone Campbell will officiate. 
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends will 
assemble at 2900 Vimy Ridge Ave., one hour prior to the service for the 
procession to the chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at
