VIRGINIA BEACH - Goldie Berman Yavner, 91, of the 6400 block of Auburn Drive, d
died Feb. 11, 2009.
A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Jeannie Berman. 
She graduated from Maury High School. She was an active community volunteer 
especially with special needs children.
Mrs. Yavner is survived by her husband, Sylvan Yavner of Virginia Beach; their 
two sons, Jerry Yavner of New York City and Joseph Yavner of Warner Robins, GA; 
as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. in B'Nai Israel Cemetery 
with Rabbi David Proser and Cantor Elihu Flax officiating. H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts, Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements.
