Virginian-Pilot, 3-10-1966
Mrs. Bessie Freida Yavner, 77, of [], the widow of Robert S. Yavner and a 
daughter of Davis and Mrs. Sarah Sherman Glasser, died Wednesday at 4:40 a.m. 
in a hospital. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a member of Temple 
Israel, and Hadassah.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sadye Silverman of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. 
Shirley Berlin of Norfolk; four sons, Stanley Yavner, Jerome Yavner, Alvin 
Yavner, and Berry Yavner; and a sister, Mrs. David Adler, all of Norfolk, and 
a brother, Louis Glasser of Cincinnati.

A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 
1:30 p.m. by Rabbi Joseph Goldman of Temple Israel. Burial will be in Mikro 
Kodesh Cemetery. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
