Virginian Pilot July 6, 1968

Joseph Young, 46, of 1017 Trestman Ave. died in a hospital Thursday.
He was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Reed Young and a son of Mrs. Alberta J. 
McCready of Norfolk and the late John Young.
A Norfolk native, he was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. He was a 
retired Coast Guard warrant officer and a merchant seaman.
Surviving, besides his wife and mother, are three daughters, Elizabeth Reed 
Young, Kathryn Young and Mehegan Young and two sons, John Joseph Young and Peter 
H. Young, all of Virginia Beach; and two brothers, John A. Young of Long Island, 
N.Y. and Lynn Albert Young of North Springfield.
The Office of the Dead will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Norfolk, Sunday at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in St. Matthew's 
Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Elizabeth Reed Young and son of Mrs. Alberta J. McCready and the late John 
Young, in the 47th year of his age.  Rosary services in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts., Norfolk, Sunday at 8 p.m.  Funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. in St. 
Matthews Catholic Church.  Friends are invited.  Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery.
