April 10-The venerable Captain Edward L. Young, who lacked only three years of being a centenarian, and the oldest man in Norfolk, died at his residence in this city this morning. He was an officer in the English navy, the United States and Confederate Navies, and in the 1812 commanded a privateer against the English. He was sixty-six years a Master Mason of Norfolk Lodge, and the oldest of the fraternity in Virginia, if not in the United States.
