Chesapeake - Maureen Bancroft, 53, passed away Feb 21st, 2014, from pancreatic cancer. Although Maureen was unable to beat pancreatic cancer, she did survive breast cancer for 9 years & 11 months. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Rose Lockyer. Survivors include her sons, Johnathan Yount, of Norfolk, Brian Yount, of Iowa, Nicholas Sander, of Missouri, and her daughter, Crystal Sander, of Chesapeake, 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 2 nieces of New York, and her 2 older sisters, June Ryan, of New York and Sharon Lockyer, of Norfolk, aunts, cousins and other family. Maureen was a very kind, caring and loving person. No matter how bad she was feeling, she would always have a smile on her face. Maureen will always hold a place in our hearts and will never be forgotten by all who knew her. May she rest in peace. Memorial/Burial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 3000 Church St., Norfolk on Aug. 2nd, 2014 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Maureen Bancroft.
