Virginian Pilot June 15, 1978

Phillip Zachary Sr. of 813 E. Princess Anne Road, a retired longshoreman and 
member of ILA Local 1248 for 30 years, died Tuesday in a hospital.
A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Samuel Zachary.
Other survivors include three daughters, Ms. Rhetha Zachary of the Bronx, N.Y., 
Ms. Joyce Zachary of New York and Ms. Mary Zachary of Norfolk; two sons, Phillip 
Zachary Jr. of Norfolk and Edward Zachary of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. 
Lelia Palin of Edenton, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Graves Funeral Home Chapel by the 
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will assemble 
at his father's home, 1703 Campostella Road.
