ZACHARY, R. Y. - At Asheville, N.C., Tuesday evening, April 17, 1923, R.Y. 
ZACHARY.
Funeral services at the grave, Elmwood Cemetery, on arrival of Southern Railway 
train due at 9:20 o'clock THURSDAY MORNING.

R. Y. Zachary, formerly a police commissioner and superintendent of the Norfolk 
Water Department, died Tuesday night at Asheville, N.C. He was one of the 
outstanding police figures in the reform movement in Norfolk in 1894. He is 
survived by a daughter, Mrs. E.O. Murray, of Baltimore and a son, R.Y. Zachary, 
Jr., of Asheville.
The body will arrive in Norfolk this morning at 9:20 o'clock via Southern 
Railway and funeral services will be held at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, the 
Rev. H.H. Covington, D.D., of Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating.
