Mrs. Bessie Rose Zedd, 97 of [], Berkley, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday 
at 5 a.m. 

Widow of B. David Zedd, she had been a resident of Berkley 48 years. She was a 
native of Lithuania.

Active in many charity and religious groups until she suffered a stroke three 
years ago, she had been a member of the Mikro Kodesh congregation, the Hebrew 
Ladies Charity Society and the Sheltering Home.

She was the mother of five daughters and three sons and the ancestor of 35 
grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Hyman Batleman, Mrs. Morris Cohen, 
Mrs. David Weinstein and Mrs. Rose Goldsticker, of Norfolk. The fifth 
daughter, Mrs. Fannie Silver, died several years ago. She also is survived by 
three sons, Harry Zedd, Joseph Zedd and Samuel Zedd, all of Norfolk.

Funeral services will be held today at 2p.m. at the Sykes Funeral Home, 
Berkley. Burial will be in the Mikro Kodesh Cemetery.
