Norfolk - Pilar Cecelia Ziegenfuss, 86, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 in her 
residence. She was a native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and lived in Hampton Roads 
since 1959. She was the daughter of the late Brigido and Beatrice Garza and was 
preceded in death by her loving husband Henry Milton Ziegenfuss and grandson, 
Carlton Nelson.

Mrs. Ziegenfuss was a Roman Catholic and a member of Christ the King Catholic 
Church. She retired from her career as a Registered Nurse at Sentara Norfolk 
General Hospital after 25 years employment.

She is survived by her daughters; Brigid Miller and her husband, Rick, of 
Chesapeake, Beatrice Martin and her husband, John, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, 
her sons; H. Michael Ziegenfuss and his wife, Henriette, of Norfolk, Douglas E. 
Ziegenfuss and his wife, Mary, of Virginia Beach, Stephen D. Ziegenfuss and his 
wife, Mimi, of Fairfax, Virginia and Richard F. Ziegenfuss and his wife, Jennifer, 
of Watkinsville, Georgia.

She is also survived by her brother, Richard Garza of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and 
her sisters; Josephine Perez of Easton, Pennsylvania and Eleanor Bencak of 
Lancaster, Pennsylvania, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Catholic Church, Friday, 
December 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM with interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The 
family will have a brief service on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the 
Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., followed by a visitation until 8:00 
PM.
