Zoby, 77, of the 500 block of New York Ave., passed peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2001. "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew-11:28. Mrs. Zoby was a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk for most of her life. She was the widow of Leo T. Zoby and was preceded in death by her oldest son Leo T. Zoby Jr. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk. Survivors include three daughters, Joan Christie and her husband Warren, Cecelia Ann and Barbara Zoby; a son, Ronald A. Zoby and his wife Jarrett; six grandchildren, Paul and Chris Zoby, Michelle Payne, Kim Terry, Jennifer Sowa and Warren Christie; and 13 great-grandchildren who gave her great joy. A Mass of Christian Burial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Fr. Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 170 Painter St., Norfolk, VA 23505.
