"Marilyn" Zoby, 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. She was a native of Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Louis George and Lorraine Callahan Thebarge. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph and her step-mother Adelia Thebarge, her sisters; Lois Bobby, Barbara Smith, Patricia Warren and Martha Marlow. Marilyn graduated from St. Patrick High School, Richmond. She retired from Norfolk General Hospital as a secretary for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a former long time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her devoted children: Laurie Zoby Matson and her husband Charlie of Virginia Beach, Patricia Zoby Claypool and her husband, Dennis of Virginia Beach and Linda Zoby Clark and her husband Barry of Norfolk and Joseph George Zoby and his wife Abigail of Marietta, Georgia, seven grandchildren; Christopher Zoby, Daniel Zoby, April Zoby Eisenacher, Melanie Clark, Barry Clark, Jr., Joseph Claypool and Mary Claypool, and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth Arthur. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Harrison and her brothers, Louis, Charles and Michael Thebarge. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Richard Sokol and his staff for their excellent care and kindnesses shown to their parents through the years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Monday, February 4, 2013, at 11:00 AM, by the Reverend Father Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Children's Home for Disabled Children or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
