Virginian-Pilot  April 28, 1942
JOSEPH GEORGE ZOBY, aged 51, husband of Mrs. Annie Hayett Zoby and son of the 
late George and Mrs. Mary Decker Zoby, died at the residence, 1030 West Forty-
second Street, yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.  Mr. Zoby was a native of 
Tripoli, Syria, and a resident of Norfolk for the past 48 years.  Besides his 
wife, he is survived by five sons, Ernest, William, George, Francis Zoby, and 
Joseph George Zoby, Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. George M. Ackaway, and Mrs. Carl S. 
White; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Zoby; two sisters, Mrs. Joe M. Decker 
and Mrs. Samuel Hoffler, all of Norfolk, and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mr. 
Zoby was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society 
of that church.  Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.  Interment will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.  Rosary services will be held at the residence tonight at 8 o'clock.
