NORFOLK - Hazel Winston Gallup Zoby, 87, died April 4, 2006, in Chesapeake.

A native of Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and 
Nellie Gallup. She was a graduate of Kempsville High School and a graduate of the 
Norfolk General School of Nursing. She retired from Sentara Norfolk General 
Hospital as a registered nurse. Following her retirement she had volunteered for 
both Norfolk General and the American Red Cross.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk.

Mrs. Zoby was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Zoby.

She is survived by her sons, Bill Zoby and his wife Brenda of Melbourne, Fla., 
and Charles Zoby of Newbury, Fla.; her daughter, Mary E. Riley and her husband 
Pat of Corolla, N.C.; and grandchildren, David Zoby of California and Taber Leto 
of Colorado.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 
Norfolk Friday at 11 a.m. with Father Daniel Klem officiating. Burial will follow 
at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 
from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor's 
choice. The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to the staff 
of Sentara Village Chesapeake for the care and support given to Hazel over the 
past several years. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling 
arrangements.
