D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, with the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, S. T. D., pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiating. There was a very large attendance and a profusion of floral offerings. The casket was covered with a cross composed of Easter lilies, roses and carnations on a base of maidenhair fern. Delegations were in attendance from the various organizations of which he was a member. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. A. V. Crosby, E. J. Labretone, T. T. Johnson, S. E. McGee, W. L. Blount, J. T. Proctor, P. E. Abiouness, R. F. Trant, W. N. Mason, George G. Lee, Benjamin E. Gildersleeve, J. Carlton Hudson, F. U. Masengill, W. H. Thomas, W. P. Ford, Chesley A. Ford, Carl Tranberger, T. E. Leesnitzer, Edward Broegler, H. Rawls and P. Rasmussen. Active pallbearers were T. Vincent Chorey, Johnny Blair, Mirian Meeds, Buster Stevens, Ernest Ayers, Charlie Drummond, John M. Stokley, George N. Badran, Vincent Maxwell and R. Midgett.
