I LAURENCE DAMERON being weake in body yett thanks be to God in good perfect memory doe make & ordaine this my Last Will & Testament in manner & forme following: Imprs. I bequeath my Soule to God my Creater & my body to Earth; It. I give & bequeath unto my Sonne BARTH. DAMERON, one halfe of Five hundred acres of land scituated in GREATE WICOCOMOCO which I bought from Mr. PETER KNIGHT; the said land to be enjoyed peaceably by the sd. BARTHOLOMEW and his heires for ever; & to be delivered him at ye death of his Mother, with one Ceder Bedstead, one longe table with forme & benches to it & one couch all which stands in the Greate Roome. It. I give unto my Sonne, GEORGE DAMERON, the other halfe of the Five hundred acres of land above specified to him & his heires for ever with one Ceder Bedstead, one small Cedar table & one Couch, which all stand in the Chamber, to be delivered at the death of his Mother and then the land & the houses to be equally devided betweene BARTHO. DAMERON & GEORGE DAMERON. It. I give unto BARTHOLOMEW, GEORGE & THOMAS ( ) men Servants that have fower yeares or more to serve, six barrells of Corne, ( ) sowes and good feather bed with ( ) guns, one good chest, ( ) & one little one, fower ( ) Silver spoones, these to bee ( ) they come to the age of ( ). It. I give & bequeath ( ) one able man Servant ( ) serve, six cowes ( ) to it, on one inlad ( ) iron pott, fower ( ) spoones to be deliv( ). It. My will is that if ( ) come to the age of ( ) then the Legacy ( ) equally devided amongst the ( ) surviving to male; It. I doe give unto my Wife, DOROTHY DAMERON, (my Debts and Legacies being paid, and my Children being maintained until they come to the age of Seaventeene yeares) the whole remainder of my Estate, hereby makeing her my full whole & sole Executrix & hereby intreating and ordaining Mr. THOMAS HOPKINS and Mr. ABRAHAM BYRAN to be the Overseers of this my Will and to see it performed; unto each of which sd. persons I doe give Twenty shillings Sterling; In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and this I acknowledge to be my Last Will and Testament as witness my hand this first day of May 1660. This Will was proved in ye County Court of Northumberland to be the Last Will & Testamt. of LAURENCE DAMERON by the Oathes of THOMAS GASKINS & HENRY MAYES, & Execucon thereof committed to DOROTHY DAMERON being appointed Executrix in the Will and the sd.
