Will of James Daugherty
Made January 10, 1795 - Proved 11/10/1806
Northumberland County, Va
Record Book 17, pg 480

In the name of God Amen, I James Daugherty of the county of North. and 
parish of St. Stephens being in perfect mind and memory do make and ordain 
this my last will and testament (as to my worldly goods which it has pleased 
God to give me) revoking and disanulling all former wills and testaments 
whatever.

Item. I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Daughity my dwelling 
house and one third part of my land during her natural life.
Item. I give and bequeath to my said wife Elizabeth one half of my personal 
estate during her life.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Godson William Daughity my land whereon I 
now live from a dogwood line dividing part of my land from Mr. Ruben Helms's 
line down to Thos. Hudnalls on the road leading to Moxly's Mill to him the 
said Wm. Daughity and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my nephew James Daughity the remainder of my 
land to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to William Daughity and James Daughity the 
remainder of my personal estate to be equally divided between them.
Item. I leave my brother John Daughity my hole and sole executor of this my 
last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of 
January 1795.
