Cemetery Location:  Down the lane .1 mile north of Burkeville, Virginia, on 
                    Route #360-460.
                    Nottoway County, Virginia

DESCRIPTION:

The Old Fowlkes Cemetery is enclosed and still kept up in good condition by 
descendants of the family.  It contains many large boxwoods, and the graves are 
covered with periwinkle.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Here we find the following marker:


In memory of
Hiram Fowlkes
Born March 26, 1804
Died March 26, 1860

Hiram Fowlkes father and mother, also his grandfather and grandmother are buried 
here, with field stones for markers and no inscriptions.
