Cemetery Location:  Crossing the Little Nottoway River over what used to be 
                    called Jordens Bridge to the left is “Pleasant Hill” 
                    Cemetery.
                    Nottoway County, Virginia


DATE:

August 16, 1829.

OWNERS:

Private cemetery.

DESCRIPTION:

The “Pleasant Hill” graveyard is the old Irby graveyard and it said that five 
generations are buried there.  It is enclosed with a brick wall.  The bricks in 
this wall were made at “Pleasant Hill” by William Blant Irby, and his slaves.  
Lots of graves have markers but there are just as many graves and perhaps more 
that do not have any.
