SUMMARY OF 1850 NOTTOWAY COUNTY SLAVE SCHEDULE

The totals were calculated using custom software written for the purpose by
the author. A number of error checking routines were built into the program
to minimize error. Thus, the totals below are presented with confidence
that they reflect a high degree of accuracy. Of the various categories, the
only one actually reported by the enumerator was the total number of
slaves. See that total for comments.
