H. Perry, Trustee of the County of Lunenburg of the one part and Joseph A. Jones of the County of Nottoway of the other part, whereas J. B. Williams of the County of Notto- way & J. M. Smith & Corinna his wife of the County of Henry did by a certain deed bearing date the 29th day of June 1885 and recorded in the Clerk's Office of the County Court of the County of Nottoway in deed book 6 did grant and cov'y unto the said W. H. Perry all of a certain tract of land situated and lying in the County of Nottoway in trust to secure certain debts due by the said J. B. Williams to W. H. Scott's estate, B. W. Thomas, W. H. Perry, J. A. Jones, C. B. Smith, J. M. Smith Jr & others specified in said deed, and whereas by the said deed W. H. Perry was empowered, on failure of the said J. B. Williams to pay the said debts and whereas the said Perry having brought suit in the circuit court of the County of Nottoway, was directed by a decree in the course of Perry &etc and Jones & all entered at the April term thereof 1886, sell the said land which in obedience to decree & deed of trust, the said W. H. Perry did on the 24th day of July 1886 sell the same to J. A. Jones privately for the sum of $1350.00 which sale was confirmed by a decree of said Court entered in said cause at the September term thereof 1886, & the said trustee directed to convey the said tract of land to the said J. A. Jones, Now this indenture witnesseth, that the said W. H. Perry trustee as aforesaid in the said deed of trust for and in consideration of the premises and for the further consideration of thirteen hundred and fifty dollars and the further sum of $34.05 interest on a part thereof to him in hand paid by the said J. A. Jones, at and before the sealing and delivery of these Presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, which said sum is to be applied & appropriated as said deed of trust & decree of September directs doth grant, bargain, sell & convey unto the said J. A. Jones all the tract of land aforesaid situate in said county of Nottoway containing 339 acres more or less & bounded as follows: on the north by the land of Norman Epes, on the West by the land of Emmet Epes, on the South by the Big Nottoway river & on the east by the lands of Thomas Williams, it being the same tract of land conveyed by the deed first above mentioned to the said W. H. Perry by the said J. B. Williams, J. M. Smith & Corinna his wife in trust as afore- said, conveys the same to the said J. A. Jones with Special Warranty.
