Deed of Sale

1881 Redd & Epes Trustee to ThosWms 260a               Nottoway  DB 4 pp 365-366

This Deed made this 27th day of May 1881 between John C. Redd and W. C. Redd 
and James F. Epes Trustee in a certain deed of trust from the said John C.
Redd and 
W. C. Redd, dated July 3rd 1879 and duly recorded in the Clerk's office of
Nottoway 
County Court all of the first part, and Thomas W. Williams of the second part 
Witnesseth:

that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars cash in hand
paid the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged the said John C. Redd, W. C. Redd and James F.
Epes 
Trustee do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thos. W. Williams two
certain tracts 
or parcels of land lying and being in Nottoway County on Nottoway River the
one containing 
one hundred and fity acres, more or less, and the other contaiing one hundred
and ten acres
more or less, being the same lands conveyed by said deed dated July 3rd 1879
and the said 
John C. Redd warrants generally the title to the same tract of land containing
one hundred 
and fifty acres, and the said W. C. Redd warrants generally the title to the
said one hundred 
and ten acres of land.  

And the said James F. Epes Trustee warrants special by title to said tracts of
land.  Witness 
the following signatures and seals.

I W. A. Guy a Justice of the Peace for the County of Nottoway State of
Virginia, do certify 
that John C. Redd whose name is signed to the foregoing deed dated May 27th
1881 this day 
personally appeared before me in my said County and acknowledged the same. 
Given under 
my hand in my said County this 27th day of May 1881.

that W. C. Redd whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date on the

me and 
acknowledged the same in my County aforesaid.  Given under my hand this 2nd
day of June 
1881.
