All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== 1917 Rose to Seay RR 70a Nottoway County, Virginia Deed Book 43 Page 535 Deed dated 24 March, 1917 This deed made and entered into this 24th day of March 1917 by and between Henry N Rose Trustee of Columbus, Ohio party of the first part, and Richard Seay of Nottoway County, Virginia party of the second part Witnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of Eleven Hundred Dollars ($1100.00) cash in hand paid, receipt which is hereby acknowledged before the signing sealing and delivery of these presents, the said party of the first part doth hereby give, grant bargain, sell and convey with General Warranty of title, to and unto the the said party of the second part all of that certain lot tract or parcel of land located lying and being in the County of Nottoway, State of Virginia containing seventy acres more or less, situated on Stingy Lane Road and bounded as follows: to wit: on the North by the said Stingy Lane Road, on the West by the land of James L. Tucker on the South by the lands of W. W. Royall and John Lee and on the East by Walter and L.F. Fitzgerald and Davy Epes, this acreage being arrived at as per survey by F. L. Dunn, and being the balance of the land which was conveyed to the said Henry N. Rose Trustee by deed from G. L. Bradshaw and others, being the home part of the property known as "Rovers Rest" or the Joe Williams place subject, however to a right of way twenty (20) feet wide on said land along the Southern line as an outlet for W. Royall, as stated in deed to said Royall; this being the balance of the tract of land conveyed the said H N. Rose Trustee, as aforesaid, after conveying 25 acres to Walter Royall, 50 acres to John Lee, 25 acres to Walter and L. F. Fitzgerald, 15 acres to Davy Epes and 80 acres to James L. Tucker. Party of the first part convenants that he has a perfect right to make and execute this deed; that he has done no act whatever to incumber the property hereby conveyed; that the party of the second part shall have quiet and peaceful possession thereof, free from all incumbrances or interference and that he stands ready to make and execute such other and further assurances as may be deemed necessary or requisite. Postlewaite a Notary Public in and for the City of Columbus in the State of Ohio do hereby certify that Henry N. Rose Trustee, whose name is signed to the foregoing and annexed hereto bearing date on the 24th Day of March 1917 has personally appeared before me in my said City and acknowledged the same.
