D. 1890 between B. W. Thomas and Fannie E. his wife of the County of Nottoway and State of Virginia of the first part and William H. Bridgeforth of the town of Hampton and state aforesaid of the second part: Witnesseth that in consideration of Fifteen hundred ($1500.00) dollars to them paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said parties of the first, do hereby bargain and sell grant and convey unto the said party of the second part with general warranty a certain tract of land with every appurtenance thereto belonging lying in the County of Nottoway Containing Three Hundred and thirty nine (339) acres and bounded on the North by the public highway leading from Falls Road by Norman Epes to Cocke's Road East by the land of Thomas W. Williams South by Big Nottoway River and West by Emmet Epes and is generally known as the former residence of Joel B. Williams. Witness the following signatures and seals the day and year first herein written. B. W. Thomas Seal F. E. Thomas Seal State of Virginia } County of Nottoway} To wit: I Jos. M. Hurt a Notary Public for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do certify that B. W. Thomas and Fannie E. his wife, whose names are signed to the writing above bearing date on the First day of May 1890, acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid. This Deed made this 10th day of June 1890 between Emmett Epes of the County of Nottoway and State of Virginia of the first part and William H. Bridgeforth of the Town of Hampton in the State aforesaid of the Second part, Witnesseth: that in consideration of Two Thousand ($2000.00) dollars the said Emmett Epes doth hereby bargain and sell grant and convey with General Warranty unto the said William H. Birdgeforth that certain tract of land in the County of Nottoway and State of Virginia known as Thomas' containing two hundred and twenty five acres and bounded as follows, viz On the North by the land of Norman Epes East by the land of William H. Bridgeforth South by Big Nottoway River and West by the land of E. F. Williams Brothers & others being the identical tract of land bequeathed to the said Emmett Epes by the will of his Grandfather Francis W. Epes.
